Ceramic Taster

Description Join Pearl for a Ceramic Taster Class and discover the joy of clay in just one session! This single 2.5-hour session is the perfect way to dip your hands into clay and experience the magic of making your own hand-built piece.

What to expect: You'll be greeted with a prepared workstation stocked with tools and clay, then learn hand-building basics including pinch pot and coil building, scoring and slipping, and adding texture. Explore form, design, and creative expression at your own pace with hands-on guidance from an instructor. At the end of class, you'll sign your piece and choose from three beautiful glaze options. Our studio team will glaze and fire your piece for you, ready for pickup in a few weeks. Remember, ceramics is an unpredictable art form - while most pieces make it through the firing process beautifully, occasional cracks or kiln mishaps can occur due to the nature of the materials.

Whether you're a complete beginner or just curious about working with clay, all are welcome! Come solo, with a friend, or as a group outing.

What to bring: We provide an array of ceramic supplies, but feel free to bring supplies you want from home. We suggest bringing an apron (we have a few in house as well!) or wearing clothes that you don't mind getting dirty! We supply water/coffee/tea, but you can bring any other non alcoholic beverage you might want!

PLEASE NOTE Pearl does not have access to internet service– we think it makes for a more creative atmosphere – you can step out of the studio if you'd like to access service to look something up!
