Watercolour Painting Series: A 4-Week Class

Age: 18+

Description Join us for 4-classes of watercolour painting! This series is designed for anyone who would like to explore the medium of watercolour. No experience needed.

What to expect: Over 4 sessions, you'll learn foundational watercolour techniques. Start with the fundamentals, then progress through essential techniques like wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, washes, and lifting colour. Learn the art of glazing to build luminous, transparent layers and discover how to create depth and texture in your paintings. Throughout the series, you'll develop skills in composition, and colour mixing while finding your own creative voice.

Each class builds upon the previous one, with short demonstrations of new techniques followed by hands-on practice with personalized guidance.

Class 1 (January 7th): Master basic techniques, paint properties, and create a simple study

Class 2 (January 14th): Explore composition fundamentals and begin your final project with underpainting

Class 3 (January 21st): Learn glazing techniques to build depth, texture, and luminosity

Class 4 (January 28th): Complete your painting with final details!

At the end of the series, you'll take home several practice studies and one completed watercolour painting that showcases your new skills.

What to bring: We provide all watercolour paints, brushes, paper, palettes, masking tape, and supplies, but feel free to bring any personal materials you'd like to use. Wear clothes you don't mind getting a few paint splashes on! We supply water, coffee, and tea, but you're welcome to bring other non-alcoholic beverages.
