Kids Ceramic Handbuilding

Please note this class is now 2 hours long to allow for more time for the class to underglaze their pieces!

Join us at Pearl Art Studio for our Kids Ceramic Handbuilding class — where imagination comes to life through clay! Designed for children ages 7–11, this class focuses on hands-on ceramics in a fun, creative environment.

What to expect

After you say hello and drop your little ones off, the session begins with a brief introduction from our instructor before jumping right into creating with clay. Children will be guided through a handbuilding project of their choice using techniques such as pinching, rolling, shaping, underglazing, and texturing.

Throughout the class, kids will explore form, creativity, and self-expression while bringing their own ideas to life in clay. The instructor will provide guidance while encouraging individuality and experimentation.

This class is all about building confidence, creativity, and hands-on skills in a supportive environment. No prior clay experience is needed - just curiosity and a willingness to get a little messy!

All materials are provided, and each child will create their own handbuilt clay piece - a meaningful keepsake they can be proud of.

Pearl will apply a clear glaze to each piece, and finished ceramics will be ready for pickup in 3–4 weeks.

What to bring

We provide all clay materials and tools! Please send your child in clothes that can handle a bit of clay, and feel free to include a water bottle.
