Kids Clay + Story *7 - 10 years old*

Join us at Pearl Art Studio for our brand-new Kids Clay & Story Class — where imagination leaps from the pages of a book straight into clay! Designed for children ages 7 - 10, this class blends storytelling and hands-on ceramics in a playful, creative way.

What to expect

Each session begins with a cozy storytime led by our instructor, featuring a beautifully illustrated children’s book. Inspired by the story’s characters, settings, and themes, kids will then dive into a guided clay handbuilding project. Using techniques such as pinching, rolling, shaping, underglazing and texturing, children will bring elements of the story to life in clay while exploring form, creativity, and self-expression.

This class encourages experimentation and imagination while building confidence in both storytelling and art-making. No prior clay experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to get a little messy!

All materials are provided, and each child will create their own handbuilt clay piece inspired by the day’s story and author — a meaningful keepsake celebrating both creativity and literacy.

Pearl will put a clear glaze on each piece and ceramics will be ready for pick up in 3 - 4 weeks!

What to bring

We provide all clay materials and tools! Please send your child in clothes that can handle a bit of clay, and feel free to include a water bottle.

The class requires a minimum of four participants to proceed.

Please note: Pearl does not have access to internet service — we believe this creates a more creative, focused environment. You’re welcome to step outside the studio if you need to access service.
